Végétalex Tire Sealant – Sealing tires with Olives!

Effetto Mariposa, the swiss company founded by Alberto De Gioannini, a engineer with decades of experience in the industry, are already making a known and well functioning tire sealant, the ammonia-free Caffélatex.
Now, after two years of development, they have introduced another sealant with fully biodegradable ingredients.

Most tyre sealants are made of liquid polymers that degrade slowly, such as natural and man-made latex; Végétalex instead contains only plant-based particles and fibers – finely ground olive stones and cellulose fibers held together by xanthan gum. There is no micro plastics, rubber particles or aramid fibers involved.

Besides the obvious plugin for the environment, there is several other benefits of using Végétalex:

• It is long-lasting (in most cases lasting 6months or longer)

• It is easy to clean (since it can be easily wiped with water and soap, wet and dry)

• It is not affected by the use of Co2 cartridges (read about why this could be a problem for other sealants)

• It does not trigger allergic reactions in people with a latex allergy

Learning about Végétalex was the trigger that lead to my decision to us the THIS! marker to make environmentally or socially responsible products more visible.
