Salsa recalls Carbon Cowchipper and Cowbell handlebars
Quality Bicycle Products (QBP), the owner of the Salsa brand, is conducting a Voluntary Safety Recall of all Salsa Cowchipper and Salsa Cowbell Carbon Handlebars that were sold to retailers from January 2018 through August 2022 due to reports of the handlebars cracking/fracturing, which has a potential to cause a crash hazard.
These handlebars were also used as original equipment on select Salsa Cutthroat, Warbird, and Warroad complete bikes delivered to retailers beginning in August 2018 through June 2022.
Affected handlebars:
- Salsa Cowbell Carbon Drop Handlebar – Carbon, Black, All Sizes
- Salsa Cowchipper Carbon Drop Handlebar – Carbon, Black, All Sizes
Salsa Cutthroat, Salsa Warbird, and Salsa Warroad bicycles with affected handlebars:
- 2019 Salsa Cutthroat Force 1 – Teal, All-Sizes
- 2019 Salsa Warbird Ultegra Di2 – Gray Zebra, All Sizes
- 2020 Salsa Warroad Carbon Force AXS 700 – Pink/Yellow, All Sizes
- 2020 Salsa Cutthroat GRX810 Di2 – White, All Sizes
- 2020 Salsa Warbird Carbon GRX 810 Di2 – Pink, All Sizes
- 2021 Salsa Cutthroat AXS Eagle – Black, All Sizes
- 2021 Salsa Warbird AXS Wide – Gold, All Sizes
If you think you have an affected handle bar, immediately stop using them and contact an Salsa Authorized Retailer to arrange for a free replacement of your impacted handlebar.
