SAMPSON Stratics Ergo Bar

From Sampson’s website:

All those curves and shapes on the Ergo bars let you ride with really happy hands, while offering new positions that work to help you go faster too! We have a made a legion of happy riders with the Ergo bars, and for good reason-they work great to eliminate hand pressure points that create those dreaded tingling fingers, and also help riders maintain a relaxed upper body.

Ergo bars are wide on top- almost 45 mm wide, providing a larger contact area for better pressure distribution. Directly behind the shifters the bar flows into a palm pocket or recess, allowing you to keep your hand open and flat while spinning away long miles.

When the road starts pointing up, those two semi-circles at the back by the stem come into play. By dropping your thumbs into them, the kink or angle in your wrist ( and ulnar nerve pressure) is relieved, and a little back sweep helps you hold a good posture for climbing all the way though your back, arms and shoulders.

The squared off front bend lets riders get their hands closer to the levers for easier shifting and braking, but with the advantage of keeping a full sized drop. The full sized drop lets riders contact more bar surface, and helps keep your forearm from contacting the top of the bar when you are in the drops. An additional curve on the back of the bar fills the palm, for a very beneficial hand position. This spot is great for headwinds, where staying lower is a necessity.

For speed, the Ergo bars start with a sloping aero-wing-shape. The molded in cable recesses keep everything tidy and out of the wind, and route without holes, or cable rattle inside the bar.
